On 28 October 2025, the Department of Alumni Relations visited Advancenet Technology Sdn Bhd, a leading Malaysian ICT distributor with a strong reputation for delivering networking, surveillance, and ICT infrastructure solutions across the country. Founded in 1996, the company collaborates with top international brands including Dahua, D-Link, TP-Link, ASUS, and Ablerex, demonstrating both technical expertise and industry leadership.

The visit was guided by Mr Wong Kian Wei, Managing Director and Class of 1988 from TAR UMT’s School of Technology. Mr Wong shared stories from his career journey, reflecting on how his experiences at TAR UMT shaped his professional path. Joining him was his classmate Mr Chua Sew Phen, and together they discussed plans for a special alumni anniversary gathering in May 2026 at the TAR UMT Arena, reinforcing the ongoing connection between alumni and the university.

Advancenet Technology also serves as a hub for emerging TARCian talent, with several young alumni already part of the team. Mr Wong expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming more graduates, emphasizing the company’s commitment to mentorship, innovation, and fostering professional growth within the alumni community.

The visit offered an inspiring glimpse into the evolving ICT industry while celebrating the achievements and vision of TAR UMT alumni.
